BATTLE MINES

The FMAP Game

This game, created by Nanich, the Official Mascot of Battlemines, is really quite simple. FMAP stands for First Message After Production. The way FMAP is played is that a player tries to be the first one to post FMAP after production has occurred in a cycle. This is naturally a race between all players that are online at the time. There are of course no actual prizes for this game, and it's only real function is for temporary bragging rights. There are also several variants on this game:

LMBP (Last Message Before Production): This one (which is generally considered the other half to the FMAP game) is also simple. The players seek to be the last one to post before production occurs. This involves considerably more chance than FMAP, as the players must estimate the moment when production will occur. Invented by Nanich

FPMAP (First Public Message After Production): This variant of FMAP is a response to arguments that you can't truly have FMAP if someone has already posted in the Faction or Leader radio channels. Although some still play this version, most players seem content to ignore it and simply considering FMAP to assume public message. Invented by Nanich.

NTFMAP (Not The First Message After Production): This variant turns FMAP upside down, and is intended to make everyone a winner (besides the person who wins FMAP).

Occasionally, brief variants of the game may form, generally intended as jokes. Usually, this refers to another player's post. For example, in response to a post by Rasteroid, someone might post FMAR. Other joke variants include strings, such as the FMAFMAP (First Message After First Message After Production).
